Mary J. Miller

Mary J. Miller (nee Robertson), 94, a lifelong resident of Elyria, died Monday, October 15, 2012 at EMH Healthcare. She was born June 15, 1918 in Elyria, was a 1936 graduate of Elyria High School and a 1937 graduate of Elyria Business College. Mary was employed as a secretary at East Carlisle Elementary School for 18 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of First Untied Methodist Church, 1918 Club, several bridge clubs and was active in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and PTA. She also enjoyed swimming at Wesleyan Village and was a volunteer for R.S.V.P. Mary is survived by sons John D. (Darla) Miller of Green Cove Springs, FL and Thomas R. (Diane) Miller of Vermilion, OH; grandchildren Mark J. (Kim) Miller, Robin L. (Dan) Combs, Rob T. (Julie) Miller Tricia L. (Jason) English, Chris (Dee) Urban, Mark (Ricki) Urban, Maggie (Dan) Rahm; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; son-in-law Roy Naylor; nieces Susan MacBeth and Linda Uehlein and nephew Glen Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Miller in 1986; daughter Janet L. Naylor in 2012; parents, John and Winifred Robertson; sister and brother-in-law, Bettye and Al Bishop and niece Judith Bishop. Friends will be received Friday, October 19, 2012 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A funeral service will be Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Dalton D. Love officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
