Eva J Cheshier

Eva J. Cheshier, 99, of Vermilion and formerly of Elyria, died March 2, 2024.  She was born December 29, 1924 in Buckhannon, WV, moving to Elyria in 1952.  She was formerly employed at Elyria Dairies and then for 10 years at Wellington Hospital as a nurse’s aid, retiring in 1981.  Eva was a member of First Baptist Church of Elyria and attended Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion.  Over her lifetime of 99 years, she had met and made many friends. 

Eva is survived by daughters, Margaret Sherrill of Panama City Beach, FL, Marlene (Dale) Lewis of Vermilion and Marion (Mel) Carnahan of Elyria; grandchildren, Jim, Shirley, Joyce, Stephen and Daniel; numerous great-grandchildren and a sister, Jessie Davidson of Vermilion.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard in 2013; son, Brian Shreve in 2013; grandson, Keith Shreve; sisters, Eula Mick, Edith Bailey and Alice Paugh and parents, Victor and Opal Mick.

Friends will be received Monday, March 11, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of a 12:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.  Pastor Cliff Morris of Lakeview Baptist Church will officiate.  Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
