Ruth Frances Adams

Ruth Frances Adams (nee Raynor), 90, of Elyria, died peacefully at her daughter’s home March 19, 2024.  She was born April 3, 1933 in Rittman, Ohio. Ruth worked as executive secretary with the US Naval War College in Rhode Island and retired as administrative secretary for Elyria City Schools.  She was a member of St. Mary Church, Elyria.

Ruth is survived by daughters, Pegg Vanek D.D.S., Raejean (Tom) Presgraves, Donna Pember and Cheri (Scott) Hilenski; sons, Jim (Ellen) Adams and John (Sarah, MD) Adams; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Raymond T. Adams in 2014; son-in-law, Jim Pember in 2023 and parents, Frederick and Grace Raynor.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the Weigand Room at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria.  A memorial mass will follow at 11:00 am in the church with Reverend Charles T. Diedrick as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Hot Meal Program, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria, Ohio 44035, a program founded by her husband, Raymond.
