B. Violet Taylor Crook

B. Violet Taylor Crook, 96, died October 12, 2023, in Zephyrhills, Florida, where she had been a 22 year resident.  “Vi” was born March 16, 1927, in Richmondale, Ohio, the eighth of ten children born to Russell E. and Henrietta Anderson Murch.  Vi married George R. Taylor of Elyria September 20, 1947, and they had three children.  George died September 6, 1995.  Vi married Paul R. Crook of Largo, Florida April 11, 1998.  Paul died March 5, 2021.

After her children were grown and married, Vi was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Elyria City Schools.  She was a charter member of Abbe Road Baptist Church, Elyria and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, quilting, camping and travel. 

Vi is survived by her sons, Douglas L. Taylor (LuAnne) of Sheffield Lake and Barry A. Taylor (Sharon) of Elyria; grandchildren, Jeffrey R. Taylor (Aimee), Abigail C. May (Brandon), Rebecca C. Castle (Andy), Brian L. Taylor (Danielle), Steven M. Taylor (Cassidy), Brent A. Taylor (Karrie), Heather L. Dale (Richard) and Heidi A. Boesken (William) and 20 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings; daughter, Cynthia J. Wysocki (Robert) and a granddaughter, Jennifer K. Taylor.

Friends will be received Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of an 11:00 am service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Pastor Cal Searles officiating. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
