Barbara Ann Coward

Barbara Ann Coward (nee Hostutler), 76, of Elyria, died Sunday August 17, 2025 at her home.  She was born August 6, 1949 in Elyria and was a 1967 graduate of Elyria High School.  Barb worked for Invacare for nearly 30 years.  After retirement, she worked in food services with Elyria City Schools.   She was a member of Community of Faith United Church of Christ. Barb filled each and every day with the things she loved; family, friends, community and music.

Barb is survived by sons, Eric J. (Michelle) Coward of Willard, OH and Kevin O. (Amy) Coward of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Jewels (Shane) Lilly, Ashley Rios, Olivia, Annabelle, Sophia and Luke Coward and Brandon and Nicholas Grubb; 2 great-grandchildren and sisters, Joanne (Denny) Lowery and Diane Juke.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Gary R. in 2009; parents, Margaret and Barney Hostutler and a sister, Bonnie Hostutler. 

Friends will be received Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria and Friday, August 22, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of an 11:00 am service at Community of Faith United Church of Christ, 9715 East River Street, Elyria.  Reverend Delisa Buckingham-Taylor will officiate.  Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
