Beverly J. Phelps

Beverly J. Phelps (nee Phillips), 91, of Grafton, died Thursday, June 19, 2025 at her home surrounded by loved ones.  She was born February 24, 1934 in New London and had been a long time Elyria resident.  She was a member of Church of the Open Door and when able, was a volunteer at Hospitality House, Meals on Wheels, Animal Protective League and would visit nursing homes with her dog, Razz.  Beverly was the matriarch and caring soul for her family.  She loved Jesus and will be missed. 

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Georgina A. Resar; sons, Edward G. Phelps of Elyria and Richard D. (Nadine) Phelps of South Amherst; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Rose Colley and a sister-in-law, Pat Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. in 2003; daughter, Tonia in 1974; son-in-law, Rick Resar in 2022; brother, Edward Phillips; sister, Barbara Ricci; brother-in-law, Bill Colley and her parents, George and Flossie Phillips.

Private services and burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
