Brenda G. Chozinske

Brenda G. Chozinske (nee Woody), 70, of Elyria, passed away Monday, February 3, 2024 at Mercy Health-Lorain Hospital. She was born October 4, 1954 in Bluefield, VA and was a 1973 graduate of Elyria High School. For 10 years, Brenda worked at J.C. Penney Midway Mall in housewares. She was a homemaker, operated a day care out of her home and worked at Gray Security. She was a longtime member of The River Church of God and served as ladies ministry president and taught Sunday school and children’s church. Brenda enjoyed crafting, reading her Bible, listening to southern gospel music and was very devoted to her family. She was well known for her pumpkin rolls and Christmas cookies. 

Brenda is survived by children, Michelle (Billy) McIntire of Wakeman and T.J. (Akacia) Chozinske of Elyria; grandchildren, Becka, Matt, Stephie, Cherylynn, Josie, Emma and Ruby; brothers, Rex and Allen Woody; sister, Barb Bergman; sister-in-law Judy Woody; longtime friend, Rob Kandra and many other family members and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances Woody; brother, Don Woody; sister, Linda Woody and former husband, Tom Chozinske.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 5:00 pm at Refuge Church, 7942 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria with Pastor Chad Britt officiating.
