Carl E. Philipps, 80, of Grafton died peacefully Thursday, November 14, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 25, 1944 in Watertown, NY and was a graduate of Central High School in Kalamazoo, MI where he was a star pitcher for the high school baseball team. He studied metallurgy at Lorain County Community College. For 27 years, Carl worked at Lear Romec, Crane Aerospace and Electronics as a test technician and retired in 2009. He enjoyed golf, fishing, going to casinos, and playing the lottery.
Carl is survived by his wife of 38 years, Billie F. (nee McLaughlin); daughter, Deborah (John) Miller; of Elyria; son, Erik (Joanne) Philipps of Elyria; step-son, Todd Baker; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and sisters Patricia and Cheryl.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Alice Philipps; step-son, Christopher Baker and step-daughter, Dawn Reichlin.
