Catherine A. Bidwell

Catherine A. Bidwell (nee Austin), 100, formerly of Elyria, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Ohio Eastern Star Health Care Center, Mt. Vernon, OH.

She was born May 30, 1911 in New London, OH and was a resident of Elyria most of her life.

She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Elyria and she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Catherine is survived by her daughters Kathy L. Bidwell-Moore of Columbus and Joanna M. Bidwell-Rodriguez of San Diego, CA; a son Lawrence R. Bidwell of Dayton; 4 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lyle M. Jack Bidwell in 2000.

Family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ, 330 Second St., Elyria, OH 44035.
