Cheryl A. McConnell

Cheryl A. McConnell (nee Clift), 75, of Wellington, died Wednesday, August 21, 2024.  She was born February 11, 1949 in Elyria, was a 1967 graduate of Elyria High School and received an associates degree from Lorain County Community College in 1970.  From 1981-2006, she was employed as purchasing director at Diamond Products, Elyria.  She was also business manager for First Congregational United Church of Christ, Elyria from 2009-2018.  Cheryl was a member of Wellington United Methodist Church and Wellington Community Theatre and enjoyed gardening, reading, watching football and just being on the family farm. 

Cheryl is survived by her step-son, Patrick (Carrie) McConnell; step-daughter, Liz (nee McConnell) Gugliemotto; grandchildren, Lauren, Vinnie, Christopher and Alex; great-grandchildren, Fiona and Eli; brothers, Richard (Kathy) Clift and George (Eva) Clift and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Gary W. in 2022 and parents, George and Ruth (nee Kehl) Clift.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wel-Help food pantry or First United Methodist Church, Wellington; both are located at 127 Park Place, Wellington, Ohio 44090.

A picnic celebration will be Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 2pm at the family farm located at 47980 State Route 18W, Wellington. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
