Darlene M. Stanberry (nee Bergman), 58, of Elyria, died February 21, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born May 28, 1952 in Elyria and received a degree as a dietician from Lorain County Community College and as a certified nurses assistant (CNA) from Polaris College in Berea. She has been employed for 17 years as a home health care aide by the Cleveland Clinic. Darlene was dedicated to her family and was always caring for others. She also enjoyed bowling and playing bingo.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 42 years Ernest Eugene Gene Stanberry; daughters Misty (Josh) Neff and Julie Stanberry, both of Elyria; son Jeremy (Stacy) Stanberry of Vermilion; grandchildren Brooke and Joshua Neff, Taylor and Audrey Stanberry; brothers James Purcell and Francis Russell Bergman, both of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Alice Bergman.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A service will be Friday noon February 25, 2011 at the funeral home with Reverend Laurence Nevels, pastor of Christ Temple in Oberlin officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
