Darryl Blue

Darryl Blue, 58, lifelong resident of Cleveland, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Cleveland, OH after a two year illness.

He was born January 30, 1953 in Cleveland and was a 1972 graduate of East High School. He was employed with Hendershot & Smith, Alcoa and most recently with C & K Industrial Service, all in Cleveland.

He attended Living Truth Center and enjoyed fishing, football, bowling, working on cars and dogs.

Darryl is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jessica Y. (nee Morrison); sons Paul, Darryl Jr. and Daniel Blue; grandchildren Ryan, Rylan and Raven Blue, all of Cleveland; sisters Maxine Lee, Rhonda Blue and Dora May Blue, all of Elyria; brothers James Edward and Danny Blue, both of Elyria, Anthony Blue of Lorain, Claudie Blue of Camp Springs, MD and Eddie Blue of El Paso, TX; many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents May Dora Blue (nee Elliott) in 2002 and Edward Blue in 2005; brothers Melvin in 1973 and Lloyd in 1977 and a niece Patricia Blue in 1993.

Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria, OH 44035. Elder Tressie Brown will officiate and burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. For online condolences, visit www.dickenfuneralhome.com
