David J. Bannick, 80, of Elyria, died Sunday November 16, 2025. He was born August 25, 1945 in Elyria and was a 1963 graduate of Elyria High School. David served with the US Army from 1965-1968 including 13 months in Vietnam and received the Army commendation medal. He attended Kent State University and received an associate degree in personnel management from Lorain County Community College. He was employed as a production supervisor at General Motors and then as a maintenance supervisor, retiring after 37 years in 2006.
David is survived by his son, Aaron (Molly) Bannick of Elyria; daughter, Nicole Resar of Avon Lake; granddaughters, August, Annalyn and Lauren; a brother, Timothy of Altamonte Springs, FL and first wife, Paulette whom he remained best friends with.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June A. (nee Starr) in 2019 and parents, Pete and June Bannick.
Inurnment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
