David C. George, 95, of Elyria, died Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was born October 13, 1929 in Elyria and was a 1947 graduate of Elyria High School and a 1951 graduate of The College of Wooster. He served with the US Army in Okinawa and Korea from 1951-1953. David graduated from Western Reserve Law School in 1956 and practiced law in Elyria until retiring in 2006.
He was a former law director for the city of Vermilion and a trustee of The William A. Ely Trust in Elyria. He was a member of the Advisory Board of the Elyria Salvation Army, The Board of Trustees of the Lorain County Law Library Association, Board of Trustees of the Elyria Library, The Elyria Round Table Club, The Board of Trustees of The Lorain County Historical Society, The Black River Stamp Club, Elyria Country Club, Elyria American Legion Post 12, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and a former member of Elyria Kiwanis Club.
David was preceded in death by his parents, J. Clare and Ruth George and a brother, William George.
Friends will be received Friday, June 20, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of a noon service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Kathryn Ketchum officiating. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 300 Third Street, Elyria.
