Donna L. Hubbell (nee Hambly), 92, of Elyria, died January 2, 2024 at Arden Courts of Westlake. She was born August 18, 1931 in Lorain and was a 1949 graduate of Elyria High School. She had been employed by Brown Fintube and Northern Savings & Loan Co. From 1964-2001, Donna owned and operated The Slot Shop in Elyria. She was a racing fanatic, any scale, any track, she loved them all.
Donna is survived by sons, Mike “Maddog” Hubbell of North Ridgeville and Larry Hubbell of Elyria; grandchildren, Mike Hubbell, Jr, Todd Hubbell and Becki Hubbell; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Darlene Varner and Linda Armstrong and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Paul A. Hubbell, Jr. in 1989; son, Peter; parents, James and Ethel Hambly and brothers, Gerald “Jerry” Hambly and James Hambly, Jr.
Friends will be received Monday, January 8, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Reverend Cal Searles of Abbe Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
