Doris M. French (nee Keith), 80, of Elyria, died Friday July 9, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness. She was born November 19, 1929 in Elyria and lived in North Ridgeville until her marriage to W. George French in 1950 when she moved to LaGrange. She lived in LaGrange until moving to Elyria in 1993. Doris was employed for 33 years as a licensed practical nurse at EMH Regional Medical Center, retiring in 1996.
She was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the altar guild of the church. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, spending time with her family and her pets.
Doris is survived by sons, William G. (Amy) French of Medina and Randy J. (Beth) French of Berea; grandchildren, Lia, Liam, Natania and Nathaniel French; brother, Walter G. (Margie) Keith of Grafton; sisters, Ruth F. Exstrom and Betty A. (William) Troyer both of Elyria; nephew, Carl (Renee) Keith; nieces, Colleen (Jim) Everhart, Denise (Gary) DAndrea and Diane (Tom) Price and great nephews and nieces.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, W. George French in 1981; parents, Fred J. Keith in 1980 and Freda Keith in 1999.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Wednesday 10:00 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 360 Princeton Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Paul E. Jaster will officiate with burial in Brookdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
