Douglas E. Ward

Douglas E. Ward, 85, of Elyria, died Tuesday December 9, 2025 at UH Elyria Medical Center.  He was born August 5, 1940 in Chicago, IL and was a graduate of Niles West High School in Morton Grove, IL.  Doug attended University of Dubuque, IA and Northwestern University, IL.  He was the assistant city auditor for Wilmette, IL and retired as city auditor from the City of Oberlin after 30 years.  After retiring, Doug and his wife enjoyed traveling.

Doug is survived by his wife of 63 years, Katherine A. (nee Peters); son, Steven (Janelle) Ward of Winter Park, FL; daughter, Molly Miller of Elyria; grandchildren, Douglas Miller, Chelsea Miller and Bailey Schroeder and a sister, Susan Ward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Annabelle Ward.

Burial will take place at a later date.
