Drusia "Ruth" Jones

Drusia Ruth Jones (nee Fisher), 73, of Elyria, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.

She was born October 9, 1937 in Progress, WV and has lived in Ashland before moving to Elyria in 1985.

She owned and operated the Benson Motel (Travel Inn) in Ashland for many years. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and was a member of Elyria Eagles, Elyria Moose Lodge, Amvets Post 32, Elyria V.F.W. Post 1079, American Legion Post 12 and Elyria Elks Club.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ernest Ernie Jones of Elyria; sons Clifford E. of Ashland, OH, Richard A. of Iron Station, NC and Ronald A. Jones of Willard, OH; 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a sister Maxine Smith of West Salem.

She was preceded in death by son Jeffrey M. Jones in January of 2011, parents Albert & Kathryn (nee Duelly) Fisher; brothers Owen, Bob, Frank, Art, John, Sherman and Charlie Fisher and sisters Irma Hensberry and Fannie Reisinger.

Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon with Pastor Charles Keesee officiating.
