E. Maxine McGuire Flanagan (nee Loden), 79, of Elyria, died August 13, 2011 at EMH Healthcare.
She was born October 22, 1931 in Grassy Cove, TN and lived in Crossville, TN before moving to Cleveland in 1950 and has been a resident of Elyria since 1960.
Maxine was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Elyria for 17 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Elyria Baptist Church and had regularly taken classes at Lorain County Community College. She enjoyed reading, flower and vegetable gardening, tai chi and computer games, especially Worlds of War Craft.
Maxine is survived by a daughter Susan Renee (Marvin) Brown of Elyria; son John David (Brenda) McGuire of Rhone, TX; grandchildren Cassandra (John) Harrison, Cody and Jessie McGuire; great grandson Raylan Harrison; stepsons Timothy Flanagan of Fairmont, MN and James Flanagan of N. Ridgeville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Flanagan in 2005 and a stepson Robert Flanagan, Jr.
Friends will be received Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of a 2:00 p.m. memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria with Pastor Chuck Leininger officiating.
