It is with great sadness the family of Libby Belitsky shares the loss of this wonderful woman. After a courageous two year battle with cancer, her beautiful soul passed away May 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Libby was born December 12, 1975 in Oberlin. She was a 1994 graduate of Oberlin High School and continued to live in Oberlin most of her adult life.
Libby served a dedicated career in police communications as a dispatcher with the Avon Lake Police Department, retiring in late 2022. She was interested in real estate and completed coursework at LCCC while undergoing treatment. She was a wonderful cook and loved time in her kitchen creating meals for her family. Libby was a talented home decorator, making her home warm and welcoming. Especially at Christmas time, her home was filled with cheer including many Christmas trees and Santas. She enjoyed gardening in her yard, especially flowering plants and bushes. Libby was a life-long fan of the Golden Girls!
Left to cherish her memory and mourn this loss are her loving husband, Dr. Jason Belitsky; children, Aimee Chapman, Aidan Reinker and Finn Reinker; parents, Bill and Robin Jindra and sisters, Anne Smith and Emily Jindra-Matlak.
Following Libby’s final wishes, a family graveside service will be held at Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin. A Celebration of Life gathering for friends and family will be announced in the near future.
