Ella Nora Hopkins

Ella Nora Hopkins (nee Plumley), 81, of Elyria, passed away peacefully Sunday October 29, 2023 in her home.  Ella was born May 20, 1942 in Abraham, West Virginia and was a resident of Elyria since 1959.  Ella was the proud owner of the former North Coast Hair Scene in Elyria.  She was a self taught pianist that volunteered her time singing and playing at Church of God.  Ella was a homemaker; she loved cooking and baking and was known for her family dinners. Although she dealt with physical illness her whole life, she was always filled with life and love. She was a woman of unparalleled kindness, strength, and faith.  She was loved by all those around her.

Ella is survived by her husband of 64 years, Billy J.; grandchildren, Stacie (Matt) Sokolowski, Greg (Kimberly) Walter, Joshua (Maggie) Hopkins, Jenna (Derrick) Heindel, Nicki (Kenny) Prince, Tara (Justin) May, Chandel (Scott) Dusenbury and T.J. (Andrea) Hopkins; sixteen great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Linda Hopkins; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. 

She was preceded in death by sons, Timothy in 2013 and Gregory in 2022 and parents, Otis and Virginia Plumley.

Friends will be received Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of a noon service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Pastor Justin May officiating.
