Emily G. Bixby

Emily Grace Bixby (nee Christensen), 94, of Vermilion, died Friday, July 26, 2024.  She was born February 4, 1930 in Berea and attended Elyria High School.  Emily enjoyed being a housewife and mother to their children.  She loved going to the beach, shopping, spending time with her great-granddaughter, Leia-Rey and following the Cleveland Indians.

Emily is survived by her children, Darrel (Winona) Bixby of Dayton, Keith Bixby of TN, Nancy Bixby of FL, Diana (Ricky) Longacre of Elyria and Peggy Bixby of Vermilion; four grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Roy Arthur Bixby in 2006; brother, James Daryl Christensen; sister, Violet Eleanor Guthman; infant brother, Wayne; parents, Earl and Margaret Christensen and aunt Leona Bielfelt.

Friends will be received Monday, July 29, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.
