Florida M. Dickerson (nee Williams), 91, of Elyria, died peacefully surrounded by family Friday June 6, 2025. She was born March 15, 1934, in Bovina, MS and was a resident of Elyria since 1948. Florida had been employed as a cook at Howard Johnson restaurant and Americana Inn, both in Elyria and she worked in home health care. She was a member of the Elyria Seventh-day Adventist Church, active in the women’s ministry, served as deaconess and head deaconess.
Florida is survived by children, Regina Henry Morris of Columbus, Ava Elaine Dickerson of Fresno, CA, Cathleen Yvette Coleman (Marc) of the United Arab Emirates, Robert Stanley Dickerson of Perry, GA, and William Robert Dickerson III (Onetha) of Hodgenville, KY; sister, Yvonne V. Williams (Joe Lynch); brothers, Craig L. Williams (Denise) and Larry Balls (Regina)and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Dickerson, Jr. in 2007; son, William Henry; parents, Ruby and Henry Williams; sisters, Charlene Curry, Audrey J. Porter and Patty Ann Styles; brothers, Henry Williams, Jr., Leroy Edwin Williams, Sr. and John E. Williams.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Last viewing Monday, June 23rd, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with funeral service beginning at 11:00 am at the Elyria Seventh- day Adventist Church, 9652 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria with Dr. Marc Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
