Floy B. Smith

Floy B. Smith (nee Bailey), 93, of Elyria, died Monday, December 9, 2024 at Wesleyan Village.  She was born November 1, 1931 in Glenville, WV, was a 1949 graduate of Glenville High School moving to Elyria in 1950.  Floy was a licensed practical nurse and employed for 22 years in the maternity ward at EMH Regional Medical Center, retiring in 1991.  She was a member of North Olmsted Evangelical Friends Church and a former member of Elyria Calvary Baptist Church. 

Floy is survived by sons, Kenton (Sher) Smith of Durham, NC, Bradford (Anita) Smith of Clinton, WA, Randall (Christine) Smith of Oberlin, Ted (Nancy) Smith of LaGrange and Daniel Smith of Elyria and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Levi R. in 2008; sisters, Sonya Post, Madolene Diehl and Harriet Hall; brothers, Harlan, Albin and George Bailey and parents, Harlan and Lillian Bailey.

A memorial service will be Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Elyria Friends Church, 9300 West Ridge Road, Elyria with Pastor David Hoovler officiating.
