Frank Piech Obituary

Frank S. Piech, 71, of Olmsted Falls, died November 30, 2023 at Kemper House, Strongsville.  He was born June 26, 1952 in Youngstown and was a 1971 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.  From 1971 to 1974, he served in the US Air Force as an aircraft maintenance specialist and served 2 tours in Vietnam.  After his time in the military, he lived in California where he worked on the railroad and was a commercial and housing electrician.  In 1981, he moved to the Youngstown area and worked at IDI as a tool and die machinist. Frank later moved to Cleveland and owned/operated Custom Power in the Parma area where he worked with the seniors in the area, helping them with small electrical jobs.  He retired from Worthington Steel after 20 years, where he was a lead in the electrical maintenance department.  After retiring, he was employed by Arconic in Cleveland for almost 2 years.   Frank enjoyed gardening, golfing, cooking and computer technology. He was an avid animal lover, especially cats.  He and his wife frequently traveled to Hocking Hills and enjoyed hiking and staying in the cabins.

Frank is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeanne; his son, Jason Piech of CA; grandson, SSgt Korey Piech US Air Force stationed at Fort Eisenhower, GA; brother, Tony (Nancy) Piech of FL; former daughter-in-law, Cathy Piech of CA; sister-in-law, Tina (Bob) Gray; brother-in-law, John (Olivia-deceased) Didek; nieces; great-nieces and great-nephews and his shelter cat, Dunkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Katherine Piech.
