George F. Smith

George F. Smith, 79, of Elyria, died Friday August 22, 2025.  He was born October 6, 1945 in W. Aliquippa, PA and served in the US Army from 1962 to 1965.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger days when him and his wife lived in PA.  George later moved to Ohio and retired as an auto mechanic. 

George is survived by his children, Bernadette “Lee” Johnston of Baden, PA and Dewayne Smith of Rochester, PA; step daughter, Cindy of Elyria; brother, Leroy (Betty) Smith of TX; sister, Judy (Joe) Vanyo of Monaca, PA and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; parents, Charles and Nettie Smith; brothers, Charles Smith, Jr and William “Bill” Smith; sisters, Deloris Pirosek, Virginia Youngker and Esther Millich and a step-daughter, Becky.
