Gordon F. "Gordy" Koepp, 68, of Oberlin, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at his home following a short illness.
He was born September 11, 1942 in Elyria and was a 1960 graduate of Elyria High School. He was trained as a respiratory therapist at Fairview Park Hospital and worked in that capacity for many years at both Allen Memorial Hospital and EMH Regional Medical Center. He was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church, Elyria and Grace Lutheran Church, Oberlin.
Gordy enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, gardening, fishing and spending time with his friends and family, most especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by daughter Kelley (Tony) Borton of Cygnet, OH; son Kris (Kathy) Koepp of Lorain; grandchildren Mathew, Corianna and Makaylie Borton and Kloe Koepp. Also surviving are: former wife and friend, Jan Koepp of Oberlin, brothers Ronald (Deanna) Koepp, Gerald (Muriel) Koepp and sister Barbara Sennhenn, all of Elyria and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence C. and Alvira L. Koepp.
A memorial service will be, Sunday 3:00 PM, February 6, 2011at Grace Lutheran Church, 310 W. Lorain St., Oberlin, OH with Rev. Joshua Moldenhauer officiating. A private burial service will be held at a later date. Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria is handling the arrangements.
