Harold E. Bruce, Jr., 96, of Carlisle Township, joined his wife, Jean and daughter, Monica December 21, 2024 after a brief illness. He was born December 12, 1928 in Cleveland, moving to Carlisle Township at the age of 3. Hal attended East Carlisle School and was a 1948 graduate of Elyria High School. He enlisted in the National Guard after one year of college and was transferred to the US Army during the Korean War. After his military separation, he was employed at Bendix Corporation, Elyria. Hal followed in his father’s footsteps and became a volunteer fire fighter for Carlisle Township. He retired after 30 years from Bendix and the fire department to pursue his hobbies.
Hal is survived by daughters, Christine Bruce and Stephanie (Doug) Parrack; grandsons, Jason (Victoria) Parrack, Nathan (AJ) Parrack, Bruce Neumeyer and Brent Neumeyer; great-grandchildren, Matilda Parrack, Walter Parrack and Sierra Meadows and numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jean in 2017; daughter, Monica in 1970 and parents, Harold and Sarah Bruce.
Private burial will be in LaPorte Cemetery, Carlisle Township.
