Harry A. Hartle, 84, a 20-year resident of Elyria died Friday at Palm Crest East Nursing Home in Elyria after a two-year illness. He was born in Ramsey Town, PA., and served in the Army during World War II. He was a retired 20-year employee of T.J. Hume Construction Co. and attended Liberty Baptist Church in Elyria.
Mr. Hartle is survived by a daughter, Janet S. Hooper of Elyria; a grandson; brothers, Earl Hartle of Amherst and Lewis of Wayne, W. Va.; and by sisters, Ruth Shaffer of Elyria, Christine Hartle of Pittsburgh and Irene Wall of Sikesville, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Mae in 1977; brothers, Frank Jr., Leonard and Pat; and by sisters, Lucille Vaux, Wanda Malvaney and Marjorie Brady.
Friends may call Monday from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:30 am at Liberty Baptist Church, 1017 Lake Ave. The Reverend Rick Young will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Cemetery, Amherst Township.
The Elyria Veterans of Foreign War Post 1079 will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
