Obituary
Helen E. Belcher (nee Elmore), 97, of Elyria, died August 9, 2023 in her home. She was born September 27, 1925 in Princeton, WV, moving to Elyria in 1963. Helen was a founding member of Solid Rock Community Church (Community United Methodist Church), a church volunteer and member of the quilting circle. She was a homemaker, dedicated to her family and enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing.
Helen is survived by sons, David (Georgia), Clarence Alvia, Jr. (Irene), Kenneth (Lori) and Phillip Belcher and a daughter, Carolyn Hicks; eleven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; nine great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty five years, Clarence A. in 2012; daughter, Cathy Cropp; son-in-law, Jim Hicks and eight siblings.
Friends will be received Monday August 14, 2023 from 4:00 -7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A service will be Tuesday August 15, 2023 at 12:30 PM in the funeral home with Reverend Kevin Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Solid Rock Community Church, 680 North Abbe Road, Elyria.
