Howard G. Mayne

Howard G. Mayne, 89, of Elyria, died under hospice care June 17, 2024.  He was born July 2, 1934 in Mannington, Marion County, WV and served in the US Air Force from 1956-1960 stationed in Germany.  For 32 years, he was employed at Ford Motor Company, Brook Park as a foreman retiring in 1985.  Soon after retiring, he owned and operated Howard’s Grass Cutting for over 25 years.  Howard was a 50-year active member of First United Methodist Church, Elyria.  He was also a member of the Masons and Norwalk Eagles Club 711 and attended Elyria Eagles Club.

Howard is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ina P.; daughter, Terri Mayne of Elyria; son, Michael (Cherie) Mayne of Sheffield; grandchildren, Michael Mayne, Jr. and Justin Mayne; great-granddaughter, Brianna Mayne; step-son, Timothy (Sari) Dalton of Cleveland; step-grandchild,  Kayleigh (Mark) Occhionero and a step-great-granddaughter, Violet Occhionero.

He was preceded in death by parents and a brother, Charles Mayne.

Friends will be received Friday, June 21, 2024 from 11:30 am until the time of a 1:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Tennille Power officiating.  Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 312 Third Street, Elyria, 44035.
