Irma Agnes Briton (nee Baksa), 96, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully in her sleep May 3, 2010 at Angel River Health and Rehabilitation in Newburgh, IN.
Irma was born to Julius and Agnes (nee Bokonnyi) Baksa January 29, 1914 in Elyria, Ohio and was the second of four children including Alexander, Julius (Jay) and Stephen. She attended Elyria High School, graduating in 1932.
She met and married Norman A. Briton, raised three children, was an active member of her community and worked in the payroll department of Ridge Tool Company for over a decade. She will be remembered for her sweet nature, willing spirit and dedication to family and friends. A devout Christian, she was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Elyria and her favorite hymn was What A Friend We Have In Jesus.
Irma is survived by a son, Norman C. (Camille) Briton of Salem, WI; daughter, Nancy B. (Carl H.) Linge of Evansville, IN.; grandchildren James Briton, Timothy Briton, Mark Salisbury, Pamela Briton Linge and Paul Briton Linge; great-grandchildren Michael Briton Linge, Anna Beth Linge, Stephen Apollos Linge, Kelly Ann Briton, Timothy Briton, Jr. and Tyler Briton; nieces and nephews including Dorothy Schmidt and Alex Baksa of Elyria and Kay Sanville of Wisconsin.
In addition to her parents and brothers, she was preceded in death by her husband Norman A. Briton in 1993 and a daughter Holly (Clifford) Salisbury in 1989.
Family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 7 pm. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria, where a service will be Friday 11:00 a.m. Reverend Paul Linge and Reverend Rick Stein will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
