James W. Blauvelt

James W. Blauvelt, 74, of Elyria, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.
He was born October 29, 1936 in Elyria, attended Elyria High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Jim was an automotive mechanic and employed as service manager at J.R. Dall Ford in Elyria for 28 years, retiring in 1995. He was an avid reader, enjoyed NASCAR, crossword puzzles and playing the organ.
Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth A. (nee Wilson); son James A. of Elyria and a brother Gerald of St. Augustine, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter & Ruth Blauvelt.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 p.m. until the time of a 7:30 p.m. memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria, OH 44035.
Reverend Ralph R. Krall, pastor of LaGrange United Methodist Church will officiate.
