James Elvis Young, Jr.

James Elvis Young, Jr., 57, of Elyria, died Sunday October 6, 2024 in his home.  He was born October 4, 1967 in Elyria and attended Elyria High School.  Jim was a service manager at Slimans from 1988 to 2013.  From 2019-2021 he worked at UMH Properties in maintenance.  Jim enjoyed bowling and was on a Tuesday evening bowling team with friends.  He also enjoyed golf, camping and the outdoors.

Jim is survived by his wife of 39 years, Donna; daughters, Courtney Young and Stephanie (Curtis) Armour; grandchildren, Allyson Young, Ayden Travis, Amarianna Armour, Cameryn Travis, Sophyna Travis, C.J. Armour, Nariah Armour and Emily Reyes and sisters, Deborah (Paul) Decker and Kimberly (Michael) Vasil.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and James Young, Sr; brother, Rodney Young and a sister, Patricia Flood.

A memorial service will be Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Trinity Church, 46485 Middle Ridge Road, Amherst.  The family requests that attendees be adults only.
