Janice M. Somerville (nee Pearce), 73, of Wellington, died Tuesday May 31, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
She was born January 16, 1938 in LaGrange, OH and graduated from LaGrange High School, where she was class president in 1956. She retired in 2000 as administrative secretary at The Nord Center in Lorain after which she was employed as a bookkeeper at Elyria Baptist Church. She was former president of LaGrange Homemakers, a 4-H Advisor and Latch Key Supervisor at Penfield Schools.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and listening to gospel hymns.
Janice is survived by a son Jeffrey (Shirley) Somerville of Oberlin; daughters Susan (Jerry) Liller of LaGrange, Julia (Randy) Somerville-Reeser of Las Vegas, Nevada and Sarah (Philip) Somerville-Cleve of Severn, MD; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters Lois Zalenski of Austin, TX and Norma Blanke of Los Angeles, CA; brothers Edgar Pearce of Amherst and Ronald Pearce of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by parents Carl and Mae Pearce and former husband Herbert Somerville.
A memorial service will be Friday 2:00 p.m. at Elyria Baptist Church, 276 Washington Ave., Elyria. Pastor Chuck Leininger will officiate. Arrangements were handled by Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria.
