Josie Mae Scott

Josie Mae Scott, 81, of Elyria passed away peacefully Friday, December 6, 2024, at UH Cleveland after a brief illness. She was born December 29, 1942, in Oxford, MS and was one of 14 children. Josie was a 1961 graduate of Oberlin High School. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends, watching the Cavs and Guardians games and taking casino trips.

Josie will be sadly missed by her son Joseph Harris III (Erica) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Isom; husband, James Scott; daughter, Kyla Ross; stepson Ronnie Scott and 13 siblings.

Per Josie’s wishes, a private service will be held by her family.
