Juanita M. Matson (nee Dearing), 85, of Elyria, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Elyria.
She was born April 1, 1925 in Lorain, OH, where she graduated from Lorain High School. She retired as secretary from Community United Methodist Church, Elyria, where she was a member. She was active in the quilting club of the church and also enjoyed playing bridge.
Juanita is survived by daughters Judith (Virgil) Gump of Elyria, Patricia (Walt) Woloszczuk of Rock Hill, South Carolina; son David (Sherry) Matson of Wellington; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Stanley S. Barney Matson in 2003; sisters Dolores Direen and Ardith Tomasek; brother Leland Dearing and parents Lee Roy and Marie (nee Caywood) Dearing.
A graveside service will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Reverend Donald Lare will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria or a charity of the donors choice. Dicken Funeral Home, Elyria is in charge of arrangements.
