June E. Colgan

June E. Colgan nee: Ross, 85, of Elyria, died November 10, 2010 at Towne Center in Avon Lake.

She was born November 30, 1924 in Elyria and was a 1942 graduate of Elyria High School. June was formerly employed at Elyria Savings and Trust Bank, J.C. Penny Company and Elyria Dairies. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Episcopal Church Women, Charlotte Eady Guild and sand in the church choir. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing with the Sweet Adelines and baking.

June is survived by a daughter, Marty (Thad) Mullins of Birmingham, Alabama; sons, Jack (Colleen) Colgan of Elyria and Rob Colgan of Columbus; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a brother, Jay (Bev) Ross of Elyria.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Howard in 2007; son, Thomas in 2006; sister, Jean Winson; brother, Jack Ross and parents, Vernon and Elizabeth Ross.

Friends will be received Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A memorial service will be Monday 1:00 PM at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 300 3rd Street, Elyria. Reverend Catherine L. Wright and Reverend Brian K. Wilbert will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1689 East 115th Street, Cleveland, 44106 or a charity of donors choice.
