Karen D. Ramirez

Karen D. Ramirez (nee Hayes), 87, of Elyria, died Monday June 16, 2025.  She was born January 16, 1938 in Elyria and was a 1955 graduate of Elyria High School.  For over 20 years, she was employed at Hess & Hess Pharmacy from where she retired.  Karen was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed reading, antiques and spending time with family.

Karen is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joseph D.; children, Sharon (John) Doddroe, Tanya Balser, Tobin (Jenny) Ramirez, Toni (Harry Liggins) Ramirez, Carla (Mark) Milkovich and Kristen Ramirez and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Dorothy Hayes and siblings, Thomas Hayes, Jean VanCamp and William Hayes.

Friends will be received Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.  A funeral service will be Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 300 Third Street, Elyria with Reverend June Hardy Dorsey, Rector officiating.  Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
