Karolin A. Benford

Karolin A. Benford, 63, of Elyria, died September 23, 2023 at UH Elyria Medical Center.  She was born February 11, 1960 in Elyria and was a 1978 graduate of Elyria High School. Karolin majored in music at Ohio Wesleyan University and was a graduate of David N. Meyers University of Case Western Reserve. She worked in various departments at Lorain County Community College and was the primary caretaker of her parents in their later years. Karolin loved music, especially John Denver, classic movies, reading, and her cat, Missy.  She was a strong advocate for ecological conservation and human rights.

Karolin is survived by a sister Jennie (Mike Shanley) Benford and a nephew, Donovan Shanley, all of Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Donovan J. Benford.  

Friends will be received Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 1:30 pm until the time of a 2:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.  Reverend Mary Grigolia, Minister of Oberlin Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will officiate.  Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
