Kenneth J. Murphy

Kenneth J. Murphy, 88, formerly of Elyria, died Friday February 13, 2026 at Danbury of Hudson, Hudson, Ohio.  He was born April 4, 1937 in Elyria, was a 1956 graduate of Elyria High School and served with the US Army and Ohio National Guard.  Ken retired as Director of Operations at Sunrise Medical, Avon Lake and served as a Lorain County Deputy Sheriff from 1969-1986.  His hobbies included landscaping in his backyard and shooting sports (pistol, trap and skeet sporting clays). 

Ken is survived by his wife of 66 years,  Francene A. (nee Olenik); children, Mark (Chris) Murphy of Palm Bay, FL, Michele (Tim) Pitts of Stow and Matt (Anne) Murphy of Madison, AL; grandchildren, Brendan, Dillon (fiancée, Samantha), Justin, Ryan, Morgan (Sydney) and Madison and a brother, Robert Murphy.

He was preceded in death by parents, Margaret and Walter Murphy; brothers, Don, Alan and Richard and a sister, Helen Grundy.

Private burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
