Linda J Cather

Linda J. Cather (nee Haydu), 75, of Grafton, died Tuesday September 9, 2025 at UH Elyria Medical Center from complications of carcinosarcoma.  She was born March 8, 1950 in Norwalk.   She was a graduate of Corona High School, CA and from Lorain County Community College as a registered nurse.  From 1976-1991, she had been employed as a critical care nurse at Lorain Community Hospital and from 1991-2011 at Elyria Medical Hospital in the Cath Lab from where she retired.  Linda’s hobbies included reading, collecting green depression glass, movies, playing cards and dominos.  She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, attending their sporting events and loved her cats.

Linda is survived by her husband of 54 years, Steve; children, Jennifer (James) Hawkins of Elyria, Patricia Weaver of Elyria and David (Angie) Cather of Shadyside, OH; grandchildren, Steven, Lexi, Gage, Logan and Lainey; sister, Sherry (Mike Davis) Connett of Marshall, MO and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Goldie Haydu.

Friends will be received Saturday, September 13, 2025 from11:00 am until the time of a 1:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating.  Private burial will take place at a later date.
