Linda Milchen (née Dovala), passed away peacefully Monday, June 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 23, 1951, Linda was a lifelong resident of Lorain, Ohio, and a proud graduate of Admiral King High School (Class of 1969), St. Joseph’s School of Practical Nursing (1971), and Lorain Business College (1991).
Linda was an avid reader, devoted animal lover, and a faithful servant of Christ. Her dedication to her faith was evident through her more than thirty years of service as a Sunday School Superintendent and her active participation in Synod and ecumenical services alike. She was a cherished member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she contributed meaningfully to the community.
Linda is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle Lynn Milchen of Amherst; brother, Dennis (Laurie) Dovala of Amherst; sister, Cindy Dovala of Elyria and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-nine years, William Frederick Milchen (2013); daughter, Nicole Lynn (1976); son, Nathan William (1980); father, Emil Dovala (2010); mother, Dorothy Mae Dovala (2023); and brother, Wayne “Buddy” Dovala (2020).
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation Friday, June 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1019 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
