Lucy D. Wellert (nee Lang), 99, of Elyria, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Kingston of Vermilion.
She was born September 5, 1911 in Russia Township, OH and lived in North Ridgeville, where she graduated from North Ridgeville High School in 1929, moving to Elyria in 1968.
She was a member of Church of the Open Door, where she was active with the Womens ministry and had taught Womens Bible Study. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and the family vacations in Michigan. Other interests included bowling and golf.
Lucy is survived by a daughter Donna (Al) Schmitt of Amherst; sons Harold (Sandy) Wellert of West Salem; Kenneth (Marian) Wellert of Wooster; Robert (Judy) Wellert of Wadsworth, and David (Jean) Wellert of Boyne City, MI;
22 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman H. Boots Wellert in 1996;
granddaughter Julieann Wellert; sister Marjorie Lang and brothers Floyd, Allen and Kenneth Lang.
Friends will be received Friday, May 27, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. Pastor Bill Williams will officiate with burial in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
