Margaret A. Simon nee: Corts
Margaret A. Simon, nee: Corts, 89, of Vermilion and formerly of Elyria died Friday November 12, 2010 at her home. She was born October 25, 1921 in Lakewood and moved to Elyria as a child. She was a 1939 graduate of Elyria High School and served as a corporal in the U.S. Army from 1943-194. Margaret had been a 10 year volunteer at EMH Regional Medical Center, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Huron and a former member of American Legion #397, AmVets #22 and VFW #7576 all of Vermilion.
Margaret is survived by daughters, Roberta(Gregory)Grude of Henrietta Township, Patricia(Jeff)Strickler of Berlin Heights; sons, Timothy A. Simon and Richard D.(Monica)Simon both of Vermilion and Michael P.(Jaye)Simon of Wakeman; 20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; brother, Robert J. Corts and a sister, Ruth Rothel both of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John in 1994; sons, Thomas in 1997 and John in 1979; parents, Robert and Helen Corts; brothers, Richard and Jack Corts.
Friends will be received Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Tuesday 10:00AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 930 South Main Street, Huron, with Reverend Raymond H. Vance officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township where Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
