Margaret Stubner (nee Lacko), 85, of Elyria, died Saturday November 8, 2025. She was born December 1, 1939 in Hungary. During the Hungarian Revolution in 1956, she made the difficult journey to the US. Margaret was formally employed at a local dry cleaner and in the cafeteria in Elyria Memorial Hospital. She was known for her cooking, especially her chicken paprikash, cabbage rolls and cabbage and noodles. Margaret also enjoyed crocheting and planting flowers in her garden. She was a member of Magyar United Church of Christ where she always had requests for roasters of her cabbage rolls and cabbage and noodles.
Margaret is survived by children, Erika Johnson of Elyria, Carl (Paula) Stubner of Elyria and Joseph (Nan) Stubner of Grafton; grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Niki (Steven) and C.J.; great-grandchildren, Jax and Finn and extended family in Hungary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Carl in 2019 and parents, Imre and Eszter Lacko.
Per Margaret’s wishes, there will be no services.
