Mavis Dick Obituary

Mavis Benford Dick (nee: Epling), 92, of Rocky River, died April 13, 2011 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria. She was born July 28, 1918 in Princeton, West Virginia and attended Virginia Intermont in Bristol, Virginia and the University of Cincinnati. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and playing bingo. Mavis is survived by a daughter, Gayle (Dale) Butler of Elyria; grandchildren, Raechel (Tony) Brooks of Avon, Molly Dunham of Washington, D.C. and Cheryl (Harvey) Hicks of Cincinnati; 6 great grandchildren and a sister, Jean Staat of Cincinnati.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elza Dick in 1989; son, John Bollman III in 1980; grandson, John Bollman IV in 2010; brother, William C. Epling Jr. and parents, William C. Epling and Dorothy Fry Owens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donors choice. Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria was in charge of arrangements.
