Myron Paul Schlechter

Myron Paul Schlechter, 79, of Grafton, passed away suddenly August 27, 2024 in Palm Coast, FL.  He was born October 26, 1944 in Oberlin and was a 1962 graduate of Firelands High School. For over 45 years, he was a carpenter, builder and a commercial garage door installer.  Paul was a member of the Carpenters Union, IBEW and a long-time member of LaPorte United Methodist Church.  He loved spending time with family, especially fishing with his grandsons and attending their athletic and school events.  He enjoyed building furniture and was able to fix anything.  For the past 10 years, Paul and Maria spent their winters at their winter home in Florida. 

Paul is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maria; daughters, Dr. Kim (Sean) Reilly of Raleigh, NC, Terri (Mike) Casey of Elyria and Mindy (Jesse) Wells of Saint Johns, FL; grandsons, Ethan (Mary) and Kyle Reilly, Brock and Grayson Casey and Jacob, Jonah and Joshua Wells and a brother, Edward (Sara) Schlechter of Amherst.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Dorothy Schlechter.

Friends will be received Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.   A funeral service will be Friday, September 6, 2024 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Reverend William Baker officiating.  Private burial will follow at Woodvale Cemetery, Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
