Nancy B Wilson, 75, of Elyria passed away May 17, 2010.
She was born April 11, 1935 in Mansfield, Ohio. Nancy was a graduate of Newark High School, The Ohio State University and pursued graduate studies at Bowling Green State University. She began her career as a teacher in the Elyria City Schools in 1957 and found her years as a special education teacher rewarding.
Nancy enjoyed travel, particularly by rail through the U.S. and Canada, as well as summer family vacations in Georgian Bay, Ontario. Playing piano, bridge with friends, gardening and bird watching gave her particular pleasure. In more recent years she found joy in the time she spent with her four grandchildren Nigel, Sarah, Griffin and Robin; her four step-grandchildren Matt, Jenny, Justin and Amanda and her two step-great grandchildren Attalie and Brianna.
Nancy is survived by her two sons Jim (Hallie) Wilson, Jeff (Kim) Wilson and daughter Jenny (Mark) Diederick; their father Robert Wilson, a brother James (Joyce) Bair, and a sister Linda High.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Robert F. and Gertrude B. (nee Weaver) Bair.
A memorial service with communion will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 300 Third Street, Elyria, Ohio. The Rev. Catherine L. Wright, Rector will officiate. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. A private interment will take place in Mansfield, Ohio at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Andrews Episcopal Church Food Pantry. Dicken Funeral Home, Elyria is in charge of arrangements.
