Pamela (nee Karasack) Amann, 69, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, after a courageous journey with dementia.
Born February 4, 1956 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Pamela pursued her love of learning through education—earning her undergraduate degree from Slippery Rock University and her master’s degree from Ohio University. She went on to dedicate her career to teaching at Keystone Local Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students and families with her patience, creativity, and care.
She found joy in the simple, tender things: planting and tending gardens, turning the pages of a Dean Koontz novel, basking in the warmth of the ocean’s sand, and watching the delight on people’s faces as they opened gifts.
Her family takes comfort in imagining her at peace, swinging in a hammock by the sea with her father—free, radiant, and held in light.
Pamela is survived by her daughter Kristen Jayne Davis (nee Gartner); sister, Karen Rich (nee Karasack); nephews, Colin Mansuit (Mary) Rich and Patrick John (Jen) Rich and their children, Harrison and Maddie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Michael in 2021 and parents, Charles and Mary Karasack.
